Frequently Asked Questions
Find quick answers about QUALLEE – from privacy and pricing to AI analysis.
General
An AI interview with QUALLEE works in three steps: create a project, share the link, analyze results. You create a project with core questions and a research goal. QUALLEE generates an interview link that you send to participants. The AI conducts the interview, asks adaptive follow-up questions, and responses are automatically saved for analysis.
QUALLEE uses Claude by Anthropic for interviews and analysis. Claude is known for natural conversations and good understanding of complex topics.
Yes, QUALLEE supports German, English, Spanish, French, and Italian. Interviews can be conducted in all these languages.
Lupe's Journey is our little jump & run mini-game that appears while the analysis is being generated. We thought: A game surely makes the waiting time more fun than a progress bar! Lupe is our cute UX researcher who jumps over obstacles and collects insights. You can also play the game directly at: https://quallee.ai/en/lupes-journey
Privacy & Security
Yes, QUALLEE is fully GDPR compliant. All sensitive data is encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM on European servers (GDPR Art. 32). This includes interview responses, support messages, questionnaire data, and more. You maintain full control over your data and can export it (readable and unencrypted) or delete it at any time.
QUALLEE follows the Privacy-by-Design principle (GDPR Art. 25): AI processing is always made transparent - you see a notice when AI responds. Consents are explicitly obtained. Data is only stored as long as necessary. All sensitive data is end-to-end encrypted (AES-256-GCM) according to GDPR Art. 32. You always maintain control over your data with export and deletion functions.
Under Settings > Privacy, you'll find your privacy settings: You can see all given consents and revoke them. You can export your data (GDPR Art. 20 data portability) - we create a JSON file with all your profile data, projects, and interview data. All data is automatically deleted according to our retention policies.
Go to Settings > Privacy. There you'll see all your given consents (e.g., AI processing, newsletter). Click 'Revoke' next to the respective consent. The revocation takes effect immediately. Note: Revoking AI consent means that new interviews can no longer be analyzed using AI.
Go to Settings > Privacy and click 'Export Data'. QUALLEE creates a JSON file with all your data according to GDPR Art. 20 (right to data portability). The export includes: profile data, projects, interviews, analyses, and consents. The download starts automatically.
QUALLEE uses an automatic Content Moderation system to protect against abusive or harmful content. During project creation and interview execution, all content is checked using the OpenAI Moderation API. This protects both researchers and participants from inappropriate content. The moderation checks 13 categories including hate speech, harassment, self-harm, sexual content, violence, and illicit activities. All flagged content is stored encrypted (AES-256-GCM) and is only accessible to support admins for human review. After 90 days, reviewed events are automatically deleted. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest).

Features & Functions
The Survey feature allows you to create classic quantitative surveys - in addition to qualitative AI interviews. You can find it in the project area under the 'Survey' tab. It supports various question types like multiple choice, Likert scales, open-ended questions, and more. Learn more about all features.
Yes! You can export the analysis as a PDF report or Excel spreadsheet. The export includes themes, insights, and recommendations.
Yes! With 'Custom Data Projects', you can upload your own interview transcripts or qualitative data. Go to a project and select the 'Custom Data' tab. Supported formats: TXT, CSV, JSON. The uploaded data is then analyzed by our AI and included in the evaluation. This allows you to analyze external interviews or existing data with QUALLEE.
In the project area, you can create both a survey and an interview setting. Participants can then complete both in sequence - first the quantitative survey, then the qualitative interview. Results are analyzed together and can be exported combined.
The Survey supports: Multiple Choice (single and multiple selection), Likert scales (e.g., 1-5 agreement), rating scales, open text questions, Yes/No questions, and ranking questions. This allows you to collect different data types in one survey.
Yes, our support chat is powered by AI (Claude by Anthropic). The AI answers common questions about QUALLEE based on our knowledge base. For complex inquiries or if you prefer to speak with a human, the AI will direct you to our support team. All AI interactions are GDPR compliant.
Analysis & AI Technology
The Analysis Chat is an interactive feature that lets you explore your research results in depth. Instead of just reading the report, you ask the AI targeted questions about your data – for example 'Which participants expressed privacy concerns?' or 'How are the topics price and service related?'. The AI semantically searches all your interviews and delivers answers with citable original quotes. This way you can explore, validate and discover new connections – without manually searching through every transcript. More about our analysis features.
Semantic search finds statements by meaning, not just by exact words. When you search for 'frustration', it also finds 'that totally annoys me' or 'I was really irritated' – even though the word 'frustration' doesn't appear. This works because each statement is stored as a meaning vector. Similar meanings end up close together, regardless of which words were used. So you can find relevant passages even in 100 interviews without knowing the exact wording.
The Knowledge Graph is a knowledge database that stores all relationships in your research data: who said what, which topics are addressed by which participant groups, which topics often occur together. While semantic search finds meaning similarity, the graph provides structure and context. It answers questions like 'How many participants mentioned both price and service?' or 'Which topics correlate with each other?'. In the Analysis Chat, both systems work together to deliver complete, fact-based answers.
QUALLEE prevents AI hallucinations through a three-pillar architecture that ensures the AI only works with your real data. A semantic search engine finds relevant statements, a Knowledge Graph stores relationships and structures, and the language model only interprets based on what the other two provide. Every statement in the Analysis Chat references original quotes you can verify. This works reliably for any volume – from 5 to 500+ interviews.
Theme Distribution shows as a donut chart how conversation content is distributed across themes – purely quantitative based on the number of mentions. Each segment shows: Theme mentions ÷ Total mentions × 100%. The number in the center shows the total number of all mentions. Unlike Theme Relevance (qualitative), Distribution focuses only on quantity.
Sentiment Analysis shows the emotional tone of interview statements. It categorizes each quote as positive, neutral, negative, or mixed. The donut chart shows the overall distribution, next to it is a qualitative interpretation by the AI explaining what the sentiment reveals about participant attitudes and which topics trigger positive/negative reactions.
Temporal analysis examines how your interview results change over time. QUALLEE automatically groups interviews into monthly time windows and detects trends: Which topics are gaining importance, which are disappearing? How is sentiment changing? What new entities (e.g., tools, pain points) are emerging? The results are displayed as charts on the analysis results page.
Participant Recruitment
Participant recruitment is a feature that allows you to recruit participants for your interviews directly from QUALLEE. We use our partner TestingTime with a panel of over 985,000 verified testers across Europe. Recruitment is based on a credit system: 1 participant ≈ 10 credits. You can find recruitment in the project dashboard under the 'Recruitment' tab for active projects or on the pricing page under 'Participant Recruitment'.
1) Go to your published project and open the 'Recruitment' tab. 2) Configure your target audience: number of participants, language, country, age, gender, and optional screening questions. 3) Choose your priority (Normal, Express, or Emergency). 4) Review the credit calculation and place your binding order. 5) TestingTime recruits matching participants from their panel and automatically directs them to your AI interview. 6) After completion, participants receive their incentive from TestingTime.
Participant recruitment is based on a credit system. Rule of thumb: 1 participant ≈ 10 credits. One credit costs €10. Packages: **10 credits** (€100), **50 credits** (€500), **100 credits** (€1,000). Base per participant: 10 credits (incl. recruitment, incentive, up to 3 screening questions). Additional costs: each extra screening question from the 4th (+1 credit/participant), each extra language from the 2nd (+1 credit/participant), each extra country from the 2nd (+1 credit/participant). Priority multipliers: Normal (×1), Express (×1.5), Emergency (×2). Incentives are included in the price.
You can set various criteria for your target audience: **Language** (1 included, each additional +1 credit/participant), **Country** (1 included, each additional +1 credit/participant), **Age range** (any or specific), **Gender** (any, balanced, male only, female only). Additionally, you can add up to 3 screening questions at no extra cost (from the 4th question: +1 credit/participant). **Priority**: Normal (approx. 10 days), Express ×1.5 (approx. 5 days), Emergency ×2 (approx. 3 days).
Team & Administration
QUALLEE offers four roles: **Owner** - Full access including subscription and billing management, can transfer the team. **Admin** - Can invite and manage team members, create and edit projects, but no billing access. **Editor** - Can create and edit projects, conduct interviews, and analyze, but no team management. **Viewer** - Can only view analyses (via link), no access to projects or AI features. Ideal for stakeholders who only need to see results.
Go to Settings > Team and click 'Invite Member'. Enter the email address and select the role (Admin, Editor, or Viewer). The invited member receives an email with an invitation link. After accepting, they are automatically added to your team. Invitations are valid for 7 days.
To change your password, click on 'My QUALLEE' in the top right corner. Then go to Settings > Account > Change Password. There you can enter your current password and set a new one. Your new password must be at least 8 characters long.

Employee Survey
Yes, QUALLEE is ideal for AI-powered employee surveys. Instead of rigid questionnaires, the AI conducts anonymous in-depth interviews with open-ended questions and adaptive follow-ups. Typical use cases: exit interviews, onboarding feedback, pulse surveys, and culture change initiatives. Results are ready in days, not months. Learn more about AI employee surveys.
Yes, technically guaranteed. QUALLEE does not store any personally identifiable data by default – no names, no email addresses, no IP address linking. Anonymity is built into the architecture, not just promised. Results are only shown when at least 5 responses exist in a group.
The introduction of the IT system is subject to co-determination under Section 87(1)(6) of the German Works Constitution Act (BetrVG). The surveys themselves are generally not subject to co-determination as long as they are voluntary and anonymous. QUALLEE provides a template for the works agreement and supports coordination with the works council.
As many as needed. 50 exit interviews or 500 onboarding feedbacks run in parallel – without additional HR capacity. Compared to manual interviews (150-225 hours for 200 employees), QUALLEE requires only 3-5 hours of setup and evaluation time. Results are available in about 5 days instead of 14 weeks.
